How did you come to learn about Symplast?
I learned about Symplast doing AmSpa boot camp in Atlanta. I went there because I wanted to start a Med Spa and I wanted to find out what it would be getting into that line of business and what I had available as resources to make that work. So that’s how I learned about Symplast. They kind of give me a good rundown of the product, what it does for providers, and I felt like it would be good for me just to get my workflow going, getting my finances put together and make my life easy. So that’s how I got to get in contact with the Symplast product.
What was your experience dealing with the Symplast sales team?
I think they did a good job of giving all the very basic and great options that Symplast has to offer. So that was really, what really draw me to the product. And they also talked about customer service support, ongoing support, easy access to support, which is what physicians want. We want to be able to have that support when we’re having a difficult time. So my encounter with them was really great.
Before Symplast, what system were you using to chart and run your practice?
Prior to Symplast, I was working with electronic health record system called Meditab IMS. It’s very on the medical side, not on the Med Spa side and, well the transition there’s always some little hiccups with downloading medical records, but I think that the team did a good job to get me to download my records into an S3 bucket, and that was really good. So I think the transition really was was not as bad as I thought because they gave me all the support that I needed.
What would you tell other Med Spas thinking about making the change to Symplast?

What is your favorite feature of Symplast?
My favorite feature is I can send out controlled medications on my phone. I never had that option with my other EHR. So if I had a patient that someone would review my charts the night before, I’d be able to or had someone that I forgot to send out the medications, I can be able to send it on the fly. So I think that really makes my life comfortable. I can work from anywhere. I don’t have to worry about I have to be in the same place where my patients are. So my virtual encounters are really, really have been the best thing. And the ability to send out medications from either my iPad or from my phone, that has been like a blessing for me.
How has Symplast improved your revenue stream?
My revenue stream has improved with the online scheduling. That has been really amazing for us because we have a lot of patients calling to make appointments and sometimes they don’t really turn out to be clients. They’re just calling to ask questions. So that part where I have an actual calendar on the website that’s real time has been really good. So and that it is connected to a payment gateway. So I get the patients to pay right off the bat before they make doing the appointment. So that has really got our revenue going. So we only have serious patients that are making appointments, not people calling in, just taking our time and not converting into actual money. So that has really been good for us. I love that online scheduling part we really do.
How do you calculate your return on investment with Symplast?
Since my patients are making appointments online, I just create the invoices on Symplast and then I mark them as paid. That way I can be able to kind of run reports to see what my revenue was that came in, what we’re spending on stuff. So I think that will kind of help me the next couple of months since I’m getting all settled. But definitely I think we have the the resources on Symplast to get those good reports.
What have your patients said about the Symplast app?
Well, it’s kind of a mix. You know, we have different demographics, the older patients and the younger ones. And they like it, though, because they able to text us on there, they’re able to do the video session. So they love the app instead of the link that you have to send every time. And sometimes the links don’t work or they don’t even know where those links are. So I think the app has been really has been really good. It’s been very good.
How has Symplast impacted your work-life balance?
Symplast has helped me a lot in terms of my work balance. I feel like I have the support that I need to be able to run a day. Some of the work my staff can do, some of the work like they can put in some notes sometimes, they can put in medications in the bucket which is really good, so it kind of eases things out for me. And also when there’s any issue with either medication, I can always just go back and get it done on my phone, even if I’m not at home. And I just feel like overall it’s a really made my life way easy, even my staff really likes it because it’s just, it’s just been really good for us. Yeah we really, really like working with Symplast.
How has your staff’s experience been working with Symplast?
They love working with Symplast because everything is kind of like with the way the tabs are set you have where you have your EHR notes, you have where medications are. If you need to find something, you know where to find something. You know where the documents are. But when you go to other EHRs everything is just laid out on one long big screen. And you’re trying to figure out where each tab is. So this one is really easy, is very easy. They love it for the simplicity. It’s not complicated. There’s not much jogging around we have to do like everything is just put together most of the time in one place. So they love it. They really do. Like they feel like the change from Meditab has been like we’re in a different world now. So it’s very easy for us to navigate. That’s the number one thing they appreciate.
