How has Symplast helped you run your practice?
Symplast has made everything easier in the sense of organization. Organization is key and finding information in a matter of minutes when you’re on the phone with a patient or have to ordinate with other offices or present something to a provider. Everything is ready at the tip of your fingers. It saves hours and hours on a daily basis.
Before Symplast, what system were you using to chart and run your practice?
Paper charts up until the last possible moment that we could hang on to it.
What advice would you give to someone who is using paper charts?
Make the change. It saves a lot of time. It saves a lot of headaches. It is in just every sense of the word, easier. You can understand chart notes and financials and everything is legible and organized in a way where it should be found. It will be found without the hassle of looking for charts or missing charts or accessing charts when you’re not in the office.
How has Symplast improved your patient communication?
It really is a great tool. We perform surgical procedures and cosmetic procedures and all of these patients have needs and they’re not necessarily Monday through Friday, 9 to 5. They’re evenings, they’re weekends and holidays. So to be able to reach the patient and them to reach out to us at any given time and for us to be able to assist them and show photos and concerns and whatnot and be able to really help them in any sense of the way prescribing them medication or really just walking them through what to expect next. It can be done anywhere, any time. And patients find it very easy to use.
How has Symplast helped with your day-to-day workflows?
It’s greatly helped. Again, time management, it saves a ton of time with finding things and not having to deal with misfiled paperwork. Having things accessible at all times is key for us. We’re a small practice and our hands are full at times. So to be able to click and point and find what we need right then and there is. Unbelievably helpful.
What is your favorite Symplast feature?
For me personally is the calendar view on a daily, weekly or monthly access, because again, my hands could be full at times. And to be able to schedule somebody or to have an idea of when we can accommodate an hour or two hour long procedure or when Doctor Eliza is needed in the operating room. I can see right then and there rather than, you know, Flipboard, you know, go day by day and hour by hour. I use it all day.
How has Symplast helped with your work-life balance?
It’s helped a lot again where we are not in the office and out for the evening or a weekend. And these patients that have their needs, which it happens quite often, we’re able to help them from home or on the road or whatever it may be. We can access it.
What’s your experience with other software?
Softwares I’ve used aside from paper charts going way back. I’ve used SRS. I happened to really like SRS, but that was the first EHR system I knew. I had then moved on and have used Epic in the past as well as NexTech. I have used all of those programs and I really at the end of the day, I mean, you don’t get any easier than Symplast. and seamless and it just works properly. I’ve had many issues and a variety of issues with the other programs, although overall good programs, now that I’ve been with the Symplast using it for I think over two years at this point, simply it doesn’t get any easier than Symplast. And for me, ease is everything.
