How has Symplast helped with your day-to-day workflows?
We love the ease of maneuvering through the system. I love the practice flow. I love the messaging. The patients love the patient app. There are, from the admin side, there are a lot of things that make my job easier and it’s pretty easy to, you know, to use the features within the app if you are using it for inventory it’s pretty easy. We also like the fact that it isn’t, you know, we’re plastics an all cash based practice, so we like the fact that we don’t have to finagle with insurance and there’s no insurance. This program fits our needs much better than what we were using before.
Before Symplast, what system were you using to chart and run your practice?
We were using Modernizing Medicine EMA
What is your favorite Symplast tool?
I love the reporting aspect of it. We use that probably multiple times a day. I love the practice flow because as an admin I want to make sure the patients are moving through the practice easily and on time and keeps everyone’s day on task. Vicki utilizes it also. We both use it for inventory and that’s very easy to add inventory and and new items and products and things like that. We have to change ours pretty recently with our prices and it’s easy or pretty often, I should say not recently. It’s very easy to make changes within the inventory and the products and the categories and all of those things.
What have your patients said about the Symplast patient app?
Yep, they love the app because we’ll get messages, you know, people get home from work sometimes and they think, Oh my gosh, I need to email or text message Dr. Merriman’s office about this or you know, so it gives them the convenience of having a means to communicate with us 24 hours a day. And it’s secure. They like that. Yeah, we have them send pictures through there. It’s just it’s a great tool for us. We love it.
How has Symplast impacted your work-life balance?
I mean, just when I go home, I know I don’t have to worry about things being left undone. It’s all it’s all encompassing as far as getting things done. I can leave for the day, knowing I’ve run the reports I’ve needed to run without hassle. I’ve made contact with the people that I need to make contact with. So basically when I leave the office, I’m done with work for the day and don’t have to worry about oh gosh, I forgot I had a technical problem and wasn’t able to run this program or that program. So it makes my life easier from that regard.
What was the deciding factor for why you chose Symplast?
Because it was designed for plastics. And Dr. Merriman, who’s our who’s our leader here, she’s a big proponent of technology, so she loved the technology component and the aspect of Symplast. It just, from the moment she saw the very first video or sales video, I think she was hooked on it.
What would you tell other practices thinking about making the change to Symplast?
I would just tell them that initially it is quite a bit of work because any time you change EHR systems and platforms, it is a lot of work in the beginning, but that, you know, once, once you’re in there and you tweak what you need to tweak how it fits your practice, it just makes things a lot easier. I will say that the Symplast support team is is pretty responsive. So if we do get in a jam or if we do need legals added or anything where we need their help, they’re pretty quick to come to our aid. I mean, it’s just, you know, it’s something that you can’t replace your time and you can’t replace your your patients moving through the practice easily. So it just, you know, it just it ticks a lot of boxes for us.
How has Symplast impacted your ability to provide clinical care?
Well as we have like multi layers of clinicians with different backgrounds. They love the dose spot. They love that they can go in, sign in and order medications and things like that. So we love the dose spot prescription feature. They also enjoy the charting aspect of it because from their end they’re busy, they’re seeing back to back patients, so the easier the process of charting for them, the better. And the better. It moves the patients through the practice flow also.
